Because of the complex nature of polygraph testing our examiners have all completed APA approved training in America at schools dedicated to upholding standards in the Polygraph. At present the UK does not have any accredited training schools and as such our examiners have attended the best training schools in the USA.
Our examiners were the first in the UK to hold qualifications from American Polygraph Association accredited schools and our unique experience over the past decade means that no other polygraph company in the UK match our level of training or expertise. First established in 1999 under the name Distress Services our organisation has evolved over the years with our examiners continuing their education in Polygraph to ensure the highest standards.
Examiner Guy Heseltine graduated from the Maryland Institute of Criminal Justice in 2003 and is a member of the American Polygraph Association and the British Polygraph Association. Guy has conducted over 1600 polygraph tests during his career and currently provides polygraph tests for ITV on the Jeremy Kyle show and has unique experience working on high profile cases. Examiner Tristam Burgess graduated from the Bakster School of Lie Detection in San Diego and uses the Backster zone comparison technique (ZCT), developed by Cleve Backster, the "Grand Master" of polygraph / lie detector, in 1959. Tristam is a member of the British polygraph Association and the American Polygraph.
Examiner Bruce Burgess is widely credited as the man who brought professional standards in Polygraph to the UK. Having graduated from the Backster School of Lie Detection Bruce was the first professionally trained examiner in the UK to conduct over 1000 polygraph exams.
